Online Counseling in Finland

Apparently Finland takes Online Counseling seriously. Technology in Counselling and Psychotherapy: A Practitioner’s Guide (Goss and Anthony, 2003) has now been translated and republished as Uudet Teknologiat Terapiassa (Goss and Anthony, 2008).  The publishers are Edita Publishing Oy (www.edita.fi).

Sweet! A true sign that online counseling is spanning the globe!

Online Therapy Institute Writing Projects

Hello,

Just an update on current writing projects by Kate and DeeAnna:

Sage will be publishing Counselling and Psychotherapy Online, a handbook encompassing the history, theory, practice and ethics of online work.  It will also include case histories and the future of using technology in therapeutic work, and is authored by us both.

Charles C Thomas Publishing are handling two books for us – Clinical Supervision in Mental Health: Best Practice for Online Applications (co-authored), and an edited book entitled Mental Health and the Impact of Technological Development, encompassing everything from using email to blogging to Virtual Reality.

With Dr. Stephen Goss of Abertay University, we are also working on a chapter on Online Supervision for an Australian publication by Nadine Pelling and her colleagues.

We’ll keep you posted about progress on the books being available on the shelves…:)
